Education
Dr. Kazmierski completed his orthodontic residency in 1989 at Washington University in St. Louis. While there he also obtained a master’s degree with his thesis on bone morphogenic proteins, unique substances known to induce bone formation.
He obtained his dental D.M.D degree in 1987 at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. At the same time, he earned a certificate for completing a program of advanced study in anatomy.
Before dental school, in 1983 he graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a B.A. in Philosophy. This may explain why he enjoys writing so much. This is also where he met his wife of 40 years, Teresa.
His Practice
Dr. Kazmierski started his private practice from scratch on Main Street in Mooretown in December 1989. The first day of practice was the same as Moorestown’s Winter Parade. He and Teresa stood on the front steps of their newly opened practice and watched the parade go by.
They did not have children yet and Dr. Kazmierski sometimes worked at up to five other offices while growing his practice in Moorestown. Eventually over 7 years, one by one he stopped working at the other practices. He has been practicing full-time in Moorestown exclusively ever since.
As his practice grew, a larger space with more parking was needed. So roughly 25 years ago we moved our practice to its current location in the Moorestown Office center at 110 Marter Ave. Suite 404. While we do miss having our sign on Main Street, having abundant convenient parking and a lack of traffic congestion at our current location has been a bonus.
Professional Activities and Memberships
Dr. Kazmierski is proud to be able to give back to and aid in furthering the orthodontic profession.
He is very proud to serve as a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Clinical Orthodontics, the JCO. The JCO is the most widely read peer-reviewed clinical orthodontic journal. He also has been asked to write for OrthoTown and and the Angle Orthodontist. His guest editorial was just published in the peer-reviewed orthodontic journal, The Angle Orthodontist, Here is the link. Dr. Kazmierski is also a panelist on the Virtual Clinical Orthodontic Club (VCOC). The VCOC is a monthly or bi-monthly presentation provided by the online group Orthodontic Mastery Group. This group is exclusively comprised of orthodontists and orthodontic residents and has over 11,000 members worldwide. Cases are reviewed, diagnosed, and critiqued by the panelists so that younger orthodontists, and even orthodontic residents, can see the thought process involved in developing a diagnosis and treatment plan for sometimes complex patient situations.
Dr. Kazmierski’s professional memberships include the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO), American Dental Association (ADA), New Jersey Association of Orthodontists (NJAO), New Jersey Dental Association (NJDA), and the Southern Dental Society of New Jersey (Southern Dental). He has also been a member of the Copernicus Professional Society since 1989.
Personal and Community
Dr. Robert Kazmierski resides in Moorestown with his wife Teresa, where they raised their two daughters. Both of their daughters attended George C. Baker elementary school and graduated from Moorestown High School. He and Teresa met as undergraduates at Pitt, and have been married 40 years now. Teresa started as his very first employee and office manager 33 years ago and is still there, frequently behind the scenes, making sure that things function properly. They are both very proud grandparents of three beautiful grandchildren.
Both Dr. Kazmierski and Teresa are members of Moorestown First United Methodist Church where he taught Sunday school for over 20 years. They have been members of the Moorestown Business Association since first starting practice. The practice regularly participates in Moorestown Day with a tent to answer questions, have contests and giveaways, and support our local community. For most years, Dr. Kazmierski has presented at Baker School’s science day on the science of dentistry. On a typical 4th of July parade in Moorestown, you are likely to see Dr. Kazmierski driving one of Moorestown’s current or past Citizens of the Year through the parade sitting on the back of his convertible.
Dr. Kazmierski is proud to regularly participate in Give Kids a Smile Day where free dental care is provided to children in need. He also participates in and accepts patients from Donated Orthodontic Services, where free orthodontic care is provided within our office, for children in need.
His private interests include participating in professional online orthodontist forums, boating, skiing, and hiking the many beautiful trails in our area. Among his favorite vacations is to charter and captain a boat in an interesting location.
